Veracruz beach is located just minutes from Panama City.

This very visited beach is located in the district of Resume province of Panama. For many years, Veracruz was the recreational center for members of the U.S. forces stationed on the banks of the Panama Canal.

Today Veracruz is one of the nearest beaches of the city and features a variety of restaurants where drinks and local food [fried fish with fried plantains, ceviche of sea bass, octopus, etc..] are found at good prices.

In Veracruz you can spend a nice, quiet evening either playing sports outdoors or enjoying the sea. The beach has a lot of security in the area and also has developed a tourist infrastructure of hotels that can provide foreigners the opportunity to relax with the luxuries that big hotel chains can offer.

The city of Colon is the second largest city in Panama and is the tip of the Caribbean in the Panama Canal. The city is one of the most important ports of the country and is the second largest port without fees. This port has become a shopping center and a destination for tourists highly appreciated by countless commercial advantages.
Near Port Colon is the Puerto Colon 2000 Cruise Terminal, place of loading and unloading of various International Cruise and today, a permanent port for cruise service in Latin America. In the port, there are terminals that have their own stores, “Duty Free”, where passengers can buy goods without tax, also there are bathrooms and sitting areas.
One of the most attractive advantages of Colon 2000 on other ports is the absence of a required visa for cruises departing from this terminal.

Although the Republic of Panama is an isthmus bathed by waters of the Pacific and Atlantic, the coast of Panama City have mostly shallow waters, reaching 180 feet deep just outside the perimeter of the Gulf of Panama.

The panama canal was built by the United States. it was inaugurated on August 15, 1914.

After 100 years the Panama Canal remains as one of the wonders of the world and a must for every tourist who visits the Republic of Panama.
The most important piece of infrastructure in the country is by far, the Panama Canal, which was begun in 1869 by the French, although finished by the Americans in 1914.
Thanks to the Torrijos-Carter Treaties signed by the President of the United States, Jimmy Carter and Panamanian head of state, Omar Torrijos Herrera, on September 7th, 1977, Panama received full control of the waterway on December 31st, 1999. Since then the Panama Canal Authority [ACP] is the responsible for managing the canal.
The country invested 5,250 million in the expansion of the Canal. The Panama Canal expansion will allow the passage of larger vessels, known as “PostPanamax” and thus it will generate additional revenues for the country.
